 Individualized System of Learning

We believe that in a traditional classroom setting there is no true way to guarantee that the children are learning what they are being taught. There is a teacher giving out instruction, yet if you observe a classroom you would probably see some students who were playing, some sleeping, others passing notes and talking. Only a few are paying attention to the classroom instruction, and their homework, class work, and testing shows the lack of effectiveness. While some students may legitimately be engaged in the learning process, their level of success will vary depending on the ability of the instructor to keep the course work interesting, keep the rest of the class disciplined, and on the interest and maturity level of the individual child. For this reason we feel that an individualized system of learning offers a superior education. It requires the student to be engaged in the learning process, and makes them responsible for their success. The instructional material is included in their course work, and each student is required to read the instructional material then answer questions based on the material they've covered. So each child is now responsible for their learning and it keeps them engaged in the learning process. Another problem with traditional education is that the child has to learn at the rate of the class. If a child performs below average he or she will struggle to keep up, which can lower their self-esteem and cause them to lose interest. While if a child is above average they will become bored and frustrated because a teacher can only teach at the average rate of the class, however with an individualized system of learning, each student can work at his or her own performance level without being held back or falling behind, and without the pressure of keeping up with their peers. This gives them the ability to succeed regardless of their rate of learning.

The second option is the Digital Art and Graphic Design course which trains students to use the entire ADOBE software suite which covers print publishing and web publishing.
